An Announcement!!!

Well, I thought this would be a great time to start a new blog for our new addition that will be joining us in October! :) Yes, we are pregnant!! :) I am 7 weeks along today!

We've been through A LOT in the last couple of months!! We found out we were pregnant the night before Christmas!!! I was SO excited and couldn't wait to tell Michael!! We told our family shortly after, and then all of the world!! Even from the beginning, something just didn't seem right, but I just figured it was just going to be a different pregnancy from when I was pregnant with Drake. Well, on December 30th, I started spotting, but was just hoping it was normal, and it would go away. Well, it didn't, and only got worse. That weekend was the absolute longest weekend of my life!!! I have never cried, prayed, and worried so much!!! Finally, on Tuesday, January 3, I went to visit Dr. Nilson, and he confirmed our worst fear, that I had indeed had a miscarriage. Thankfully my body had taken care of everything, and there was nothing to be seen on the ultrasound. Dr. Nilson was more than amazing in helping me, and assuring me that we could start trying again whenever we were ready, even though Michael and I assumed it would be a long while before we were able to be pregnant again.

I said ALL that to say that a few weeks ago, on February 10th, Michael and I went on our Valentine's date and I was telling Michael how tired and exhausted I was!!! I was telling him how that no matter how early I went to bed, or how well I slept, I just couldn't get going! Well, he thought I might be pregnant, which I thought was a crazy, crazy thought just because it had only been 6 or 7 weeks since my miscarriage. Well, my curiosity got the best of me, and I bought a pregnancy test the next day! Came home, took it, and......it was Positive!!! :) Although we couldn't hardly hold in our excitement, we were still in a little bit of shock, thinking could this have really happened this fast!!! And, of course worry set in pretty quickly also thinking, could a miscarriage happen again! So, first thing Monday morning, I called Dr. Nilson's office, and they immediately sent me for blood work, to make sure I was indeed pregnant, and to check my quantitive levels to see how far along I might be. The nurse called me back on Tuesday (Valentine's Day), and confirmed that I was, indeed pregnant! :) And, that my quantitive levels needed to be at least 1500 to see anything on an ultrasound, but my levels were in the 4000's!! :) So I was VERY pregnant!

We scheduled an appointment with Nilson on Friday, Feb. 17th. We actaully ended up seeing his PA, Megan, who was SO nice!!! We got to meet our little miracle for the first time, and I have to say, he or she took my breath away just like Drake did a little over 3 years ago when we saw him for the first time on the ultrasound!! Even though it was just a blob on the picture, and Michael said he couldn't even tell anything was there, I knew everything was going to be alright when I was the little "blob!" :) Then, she wanted to hear a heartbeat.....110 beats per minute!! It was heavenly sounding! :)

So, that brings us to now! We're still being a little cautious about telling everything just yet, just to be on the safe side!! We're hoping to tell our parents this weekend, and making sure they don't tell anyone until after our next Dr's appt on March 5th! :)

So, in saying all that, I wanted to say "Welcome to the Family, Baby #2!!! We love you already, and we're so excited to see you grow and mature and cannot wait to meet you in October! We are praying that you will develop perfectly and everything will form in my womb as it should!!
We're praying for an easy pregnancy for me also! Thank you Lord for blessing us with baby #2 and thank you for your protection over her or him!!"
